The Lancaster Canal
The Lancaster Canal is approximately 41 miles long and is lock free. On one side there are stunning views across Morecambe Bay to the Lake District and on the other the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales.
Don't forget to visit Lancaster's historic city centre with it's castle, museums, plentiful shops, bars and restaurants.
There are also many beautiful villages to explore along the way. Morecambe Bay is only a short stroll from the canal at Hest Bank. Feel free to moor up and take a bus trip to Windermere or another lakeland village and explore The Lake District.
